Easter is a special time for the whole family. More than Easter egg hunts and family traditions, it’s also a time to get crafty and creative, making memories with your family that will last a lifetime.

Crafting is a great way to stretch your creativity, allowing you to imagine and craft Easter decorations with your own unique spin. Below, we’ve pulled together ten of our favourite creative Easter crafts for kids. Easy to make, inexpensive and full of opportunities for creative experimentation, these crafts are sure to brighten up your Easter holiday. Make sure to let us know how you go!

1. Painted Pastel Candlesticks

These painted pastel candlesticks make the perfect decorations for your Easter table. Grab some acrylic paint pens, and draw all your favourite Easter designs on the pastel taper candles - think carrots, bunnies, Easter eggs, or wherever your creativity leads you. Note, the paint can be rubbed off while wet, so don’t worry about messing up.

2. Bunny Pom-pom Garland

Hang from the bench, the bed, from the door or over the mantelpiece - wherever it goes, this bunny pom-pom garland will sweeten up any room. Use a white medium-weight yarn to make small, medium, and large-sized pom-poms. Thread a length of twine or string through the centre of the pom-poms, spacing them as desired. Cut rabbit ears from white and pink felt, attach the pieces with fabric glue, and then hang with small nails or push pins.

3. Bunny Treat Bags

Fill these cute bunny bags with all your favourite Easter treats. First, lay a white paper bag flat on a surface. Draw a 3-inch-tall “V” from the corners of the bag down toward the centre of the bag. Cut out the “V”, forming the bunny ears. Colour the inside of the ears pink, then unfold the bag and fill it with easter treats. Tie a length of ribbon or yarn around the bag, below the ears, cinching the bag tight. Make or buy a small pom-pom and attach it to the bottom of the bag to create the bunny tail.

4. Carrot Garland

Your orange fabric scraps (or old flannel shirts!) just got trendy. This Easter, decorate your home with crafted carrot garlands - simply trace these templates onto your desired fabric, cut them out, and sew the pieces together as instructed on the template. Wrap twine around the neck of the carrots and hang around the home for a bit of seasonal festivity.

Draw an Easter Egg onto a blank piece of paper then use your scissors to cut it out. Cut strips of coloured paper in long lines, then glue or tape them behind the cut-out to fill the Easter Egg. Pop it in a frame, and you’ve got your very own Easter wall art.
