Drawing workshop: The Basics in Black & White

This beginner workshop is suitable for anyone wanting to develop the basics of drawing using pencil, charcoal and Indian ink. Students will discover what can be expressed through the humble line, from restrained drawing to bold expressive mark making. The workshop will be a friendly and supportive environment. Students will learn from fun exercises that promote confidence and skills before embarking on a series of exercises with more structured learning.

The workshop will include teaching on:
• Basic proportions
• Line work in pencil and charcoal
• Shading with pencil and charcoal
• Different line techniques eg cross hatching and continuous line
• Introduction to Indian ink for drawing and experimentation
