Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
Over the last eight years the Queenstown Writers Festival has grown from a small affair to a sprawling literary event, all without losing the boutique atmosphere and easy-going charm that makes it so popular with writers and readers alike.
In 2026 the festival runs from 6th – 8th of November at community arts hub Te Atamira. Here, some of NZ’s (and the world’s) best writers and creatives will share their work, engage in panel discussions, and lead workshops. Delivering equal amounts insight, entertainment, and inspiration across genres and mediums, Queenstown Writers Festival is an unmissable fixture for literature lovers on Queenstown’s spring calendar.
