The day after a concert for the Queenstown community, internationally-acclaimed pianist and composer Daniel Verstappen will be putting on a special performance for our Saturday Arts Social community! Known for his distinctive cinematic and neoclassical musical language, Verstappen's music bridges classical piano tradition with filmic storytelling, contemporary composition, and cross-cultural collaboration. His compositions and arrangements are often described as emotionally layered, evocative, and highly visual, with a strong sense of narrative flow, rhythm, and atmosphere. Alongside his solo projects, he frequently collaborates with orchestras, choirs, and local artists, using music as a vehicle for cultural dialogue and connection.
About your facilitator: Daniel studied piano and double bass at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven and has built an international career over the past decade, performing across Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. His performances have taken place at leading venues including the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall (New York, pictured), EXPO Dubai, and the JIO World Centre in Mumbai, where he performed at the invitation of the Belgian Embassy in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium.
