Queenstown Creative Writing Group

Queenstown Creative Writing Group

We’re a Queenstown-based social group which gets together on a fortnightly basis to discuss the craft of creative writing.

Many of us are working on novels, poems, short stories, memoirs, songs and other creative writing projects. When we get together, we share our writing, ideas, ask questions and swap tips. We sometimes joke that it’s an ‘emotional support group’ for writers because writing is usually a lonely task, and this is an opportunity to get together.

The group is not commercial and we don’t have member fees. Call it an organised friendship group, brought together with a common passion for creative writing. Together, we share our time and expertise, and we work together to organise writing workshops and other opportunities to progress our writing skills and creative writing careers.

We regularly meet every second Thursday at the Queenstown Library on Gorge Road, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
