Tātai Manawa welcomes you to the opening exhibition of a new Māori-led photographic artists collective in Tāhuna. The exhibition brings together photographic works by Judith Ragg, Spencer Dillon Ruawai, Pearl Sidwell and Hayley Walmsley.
Whakatipu Pūrākau ā Whakaahua recognises photography as a way to capture, hold and grow our stories. Through the distinct perspectives of each artist, the exhibition invites us to consider what we see, what we remember and what we choose to share.
The opening evening will launch the Tāhuna Māori Photographic Artists Collective and the exhibition. Founding artists will share kōrero and introduce their works as we gather to connect and spend time with the photographs.
All Māori photographers, photographic artists, journalists and artists who use photography as a medium are also warmly invited to connect with the new Collective.
